Food drive in support of Eastview Community Centre is on!
The 2nd annual WPBHL Food Drive in support of Eastview Community Centre’s Food Bank is this week, ending June 3rd. Located just 10 minutes from Withrow rink, the Eastview food bank serves almost 200 local families weekly. Our ambitious goal is to get 100% participation from the youth divisions.
That means we’d like EVERYONE to bring at least one item to the rink or make an online donation. For teams that don’t play on the weekend, food donations can be made through the week. We have bins set up at both rinks. The biggest day for our food drive day is Saturday, (rain date Sunday), when you’ll see our tents set up at both rinks from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
MOST NEEDED ITEMS: Canned proteins including canned fish, peanut/wow butter, (halal, kosher & veg alternative), granola bars, pasta and pasta sauce, and hygiene items such as deodorant, diapers, pads and tampons.
