2021 Withrow Park Ball Hockey League Registration

Included below is information on the upcoming 2021 Withrow Park Ball Hockey League season.

  • DUE TO COVID, REGISTRATION FOR NEW AND RETURNING PLAYERS IN ALL YOUTH DIVISIONS HAS BEEN DELAYED UNTIL MID-MARCH. DETAILS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN MARCH. STAY TUNED.
  • IF YOUR CHILD WAS REGISTERED FOR THE 2020 SEASON, S/HE IS CONSIDERED A RETURNING PLAYER.
  • IF YOUR CHILD WAS NOT REGISTERED FOR THE 2020 SEASON, S/HE IS CONSIDERED A NEW PLAYER.
  • REGISTRATION FOR ADULT DIVISIONS WILL ALSO BE ANNOUNCED IN MARCH. ADULTS WHO WERE REGISTERED FOR THE 2020 SEASON WILL BE CONSIDERED RETURNING PLAYERS. ADULTS NOT REGISTERED FOR THE 2020 SEASON WILL BE CONSIDERED NEW PLAYERS.
  • Registration will be online, via a link available on our website. You will need a VISA, MasterCard or debit card (Interac) to register. We do not accept cheques.

Season Duration and Game Locations

  • The 2021 youth season duration is to be determined. Our plan is to start on May 1 and run until the end of June but this will depend on public health restrictions and regulations regarding Covid-19. Stay tuned!
  • Games are played on the outdoor rinks at Withrow Park (off Carlaw, south of Danforth); Riverdale Park East (off Broadview, south of Danforth), and possibly Jimmie Simpson (Queen East, west of Logan).

 

In 2021, we are offering the following divisions:


Co-ed Divisions

  • U6/Mite (2015, 2016, and 2017 YOB). Games on Saturday and Sunday mornings at Withrow Park. 
  • U8/Tyke (2013 and 2014 YOB). Games on Saturday and Sunday (rinks to be announced). 
  • U10/Novice (2011 and 2012 YOB). Games on Saturday and Sunday (rinks to be announced).
  • U12/Atom (2009 and 2010 YOB). Game times and rinks to be announced. 
  • U14/Peewee (2007 and 2008 YOB). Game times and rinks to be announced. 
  • U16/Bantam (2005 and 2006 YOB). Game times and rinks to be announced.
  • U19/Junior (2002, 2003, 2004 YOB). Game times and rinks to be announced. 

Girls Divisions

  • U8/Tyke (2013, 2014 and 2015 YOB). Games on Saturday and Sunday (rinks to be announced).
  • U10/Novice (2011 and 2012 YOB). Games on Saturday and Sunday (rinks to be announced).
  • U12/Atom (2009 and 2010 YOB). Game times and rinks to be announced. 
  • U14/Peewee (2007 and 2008 YOB). Game times and rinks to be announced. 
  • U16 (New division) (2005, and 2006 YOB). Game times and rinks to be announced.
  • U18  (2003 and 2004 YOB). Game times and rinks to be announced. 

Near the end of the season, additional games may be required and will be scheduled as necessary at irregular time slots. The above times are tentative and subject to change.

 

Register Early

Again this season, it is expected several divisions will fill quickly. Returning players in all divisions EXCEPT Bantam and Junior are guaranteed a spot if they register prior to the stated deadline. Returning players in Bantam and Junior are NOT guaranteed team placement. It is first come first served for new and returning Bantam and Junior players.

Co-ed and Girls Division Rules

  • The co-ed youth division is open to both boys and girls.
  • The girls division is open to girls only.
  • Non-contact in all divisions. No slap shots in Mite, Tyke, and Novice.

 

Equipment Requirements

  • Hockey gloves, CSA approved helmets, non-plastic hockey sticks are mandatory on the rink at all times.
  • Shin guards for all divisions from Mite to Junior are mandatory again this year.
  • Elbow pads and jocks are recommended equipment.
  • Equipment for goalies has been provided in the past. That may not be the case this year due to Covid restrictions. Stay tuned. Goalies do require their own helmet.
  • Please note that the non-CSA approved street-hockey style goalie helmets are not permitted.
  • CSA certified helmets are mandatory.

 

How to Register

  • As a returning player you will be required to use last year’s email to register. If you have changed email addresses, please contact us by email.
  • Returning players in all divisions EXCEPT Bantam and Junior are guaranteed team placement if they are registered before the early bird deadline. 
  • Returning players in Bantam and Junior are NOT guaranteed team placement. Registration for returning players in those divisions is on a first come, first served basis
  • New players will be required to create a new family account and/or player profile prior to registering.

All players are put on a wait list until confirmation of payment and acceptance into the League. Payment does not constitute acceptance.

Once a division fills up, a limited wait list will be put in place. In order to have a confirmed position on the wait list the participant must be registered using our online registration system (no registration fee is charged for placement on the wait list).

 

Teammate Requests

Teammate requests will only be considered in the Mite division. We will not respond to teammate requests in divisions other than Mite.
