2025 Season Registration for Returning players — Saturday, Jan. 11 @ 8 am

Hello WPBHL players and families!

We’re getting ready to drop the ball on the 2025 Withrow Ball Hockey season! First step is Returning Player Registration (All Youth Divisions) opening Saturday, January 11th at 8 am.

See below for important info and check out the bottom of this note if you’re interested in WPBHL Swag!

Back for 2025!
Our Girls U6 division was a huge success last season and it’s returning for 2025! Please note that players can still choose to play in the Co-ed U6, if preferred, but we want to provide more spaces and opportunities.

Come spend weekend mornings in the park running around, connecting with neighbours and meeting new friends. In this beginner house league, players use the width of the rink on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Get the buzz going by mentioning it to classmates, family and friends. Anybody who has played in the league knows what a great experience it is!

We will also be adding a GU16 division and GU18 division (last season, the divisions were combined). Please help us spread the word!

Registration for all divisions:
Returning players can get to the Registration page through two paths:
1. Visit the WPBHL website and click on the Register drop down menu. You will be directed to the WPBHL Registration page on TeamSnap. Follow the instructions
there. You will need a valid VISA, MasterCard or debit card (Interac) to register.
We do not accept cheques.
2. Go directly to TeamSnap using this link: Returning youth player registration
All registered players from 2024 should have an existing TeamSnap account and will be directed to the sign-up page. If for some reason you do not have a TeamSnap account, you will be prompted to create one. If you use this link to register and you are not a returning player (i.e. were not registered in 2024), your registration will be canceled immediately and your fee will be returned less the $10 administration fee. Returning players in all divisions EXCEPT Co-ed U16 and Co-ed U19 are guaranteed team placement if they are registered prior to January 25th. Returning players in Co-ed U16 and Co-ed U19 are NOT guaranteed team placement. Registration for returning players in those divisions is on a first come, first served basis.

New Player registration will open on Saturday January 25th at 8 am. A link will be
posted on the WPBHL website. Plus, new players may also register via TeamSnap by using this link:
NEW youth player registration for 2025
If your child did not register in the league in 2024, they are considered a NEW player. Registration for Returning Women’s players will open late January/early February. Returning Men’s registration will open early in February.
Registration for New Women’s players will open early February and for new Men players, later in February. *NOTE: Any new players who register in the returning player window will be removed from the registration list and charged a $10 administration fee. If you are unsure of your returning player status, please contact withrowballhockey@gmail.com for confirmation.

All players are put on a waiting list until confirmation of payment and acceptance into the League. Payment does not constitute acceptance. Once a division fills up, a limited waiting list will be put into place. To have a confirmed position on the waiting list the participant must be registered using our online registration system (no registration fee is charged for placement on the waiting list).

Sponsor a Team!
A great way to support the league is by adding a sponsorship during the registration process. We are very fortunate to have the support of local businesses as well as many members of the WPBHL family. But there’s always a need for more. Many companies offer support for non-profit organizations like ours. Please check with the company you work for about their Giving Program. Sponsorship fee is $450. Just follow the prompts when you register to add a sponsorship to your basket.

The youth Co-ed Division is open to both boys and girls. The Girls Division is open to girls only. Non-contact in all divisions. We try to allow all teams in a division to play the same number of games. Rainouts sometimes make it necessary to add additional games to the schedule at alternate times. All teams play at different times/dates every week. There are no teams in any division that only play certain days/times. The above times are tentative and subject to change.
Again this season, it is expected several divisions will be filled very early. Returning players in all divisions EXCEPT Co-ed U16 and Co-ed U19 are guaranteed team placement if they are registered prior to January 25th, 12:01 am. Returning players in Co-ed U16 and Co-ed U19 are NOT guaranteed team placement. Registration for returning players in those divisions is on a first come, first served basis.

Youth Fees:
$155.00 for both returning and new players.

Equipment
Hockey gloves, CSA approved helmets, and non-plastic hockey sticks are mandatory on the rink at all times. Shin guards are mandatory for all divisions. Elbow pads and jocks are recommended equipment. Equipment for goalies is provided with goalies wearing their own helmet. Please note that the non-CSA approved street-hockey style goalie helmets are not permitted. CSA certified helmets are mandatory.

Teammate Requests and Equalization
A teammate request will only be considered in the U6 division. A limit of one friend request per player will be considered for these divisions only and must be reciprocated. All teammate requests received by WPBHL for players in divisions other than U6 will neither be acted on nor responded to. Siblings are placed together in all divisions. Siblings who do not wish to play together should contact withrowballhockey@gmail.com to request to play separately.

Once teams have been selected some players may be traded to equalize
team strength. Team equalization will be done at the discretion of the division convenor and head coaches. Please see the Equalization section on our website for more details on this policy.

Refund policy
Refunds will be offered only if the request is received in writing. Please send your
request to us by email. After registration and up to and including two weeks into season – refund minus non-refundable $10 administration fee. After the second week of the season, there will be no refunds except in hardship cases (injuries, etc.) and refund will be prorated to games played and minus non-refundable
administration fee.

Team Announcements
Teams will be made by division conveners once registration is complete. Coaches will be selected in March and players will be contacted by their coaches prior to the start of the season. Each player will receive a team uniform.

All-Star Programme
WPBHL has a long and proud tradition of competing at a high level. In 2024 we had multiple provincial and national championship teams. The All-Star program is for players who are interested in a more competitive environment. These teams involve try-outs and additional practices, with the all-star teams playing in tournaments (as available), exhibition games and the provincial minor ball hockey championships in July. Extra fees are applicable for the all-star program.

Withrow Swag

A reminder that there are hoodies, performance tees, shorts, caps and more available at our Online Store.

Get your order in by Feb. 15 to ensure it’s ready for the season. We won’t be selling merch at the rinks, so you’ll have to order online through our web store if you want to rep your favourite ball hockey league this spring! *Please note this link is not for the uniform issued separately by the league as part of registration. This link is strictly for extra apparel you may wish to purchase.

Looking forward to another great season!
