Remembering Olivier Dundas
On Saturday, January 8th, we lost a long-time member of our ball hockey community. Olivier Dundas, 20, was an innocent victim of gun violence. He had been out with friends on Bloor Street East that night when shots were fired. He died of his wounds in hospital. Three men in their early 20s have been charged.
Olivier was a beloved teammate in both our house league and all-star programs, even playing in older divisions when they needed a goalie. Olivier was studying journalism at Ryerson University. He was described in a CTV story as a passionate writer and good friend, and was a founding member of Over the Line, a digital sports publication run by students.
Olivier’s family has asked that any donations in his memory be directed to CAMH. They can be made here. A GoFundMe page has also been organized. You can connect to it here.
Our most heartfelt condolences go out to his family and many friends.
